Creative workplaces

I’ve been cultivating a kind of fascination for others’ creative workplaces for the last few years. First, because I’m a fervent decoration lover, but also because I believe your environment does influence you a lot when you’re a creative person. I’ve always loved making-of’s, step-by-steps, behind-the-scenes and other footages, tutorials or photoshoots allowing you to see how a particular work was created ; thus I never get bored of discovering new pictures of those places where you can create at ease.

Today I stumbled upon two awesome Japanese books (there was even a third one, but I couldn’t afford it >_<), edited by the Editions de Paris, which focus on… Paris interiors, usages and people. Isn’t it ironic to buy such books about Paris, edited in Japan, and imported from Japan to Paris? Anyway, the books are worth 40€ : beautifully illustrated with original photographs, they are also well printed on thick paper. Plus the pleasure to see Japanese typography even when you can’t read them.

Here’s a selection of workplaces which I do fancy a lot! I randomly picked the pictures from some of my favourite blogs around. (Click on the pictures to see them larger on their respective sites.)

Symon Chow

Kim Carney

Jeremiah Ketner

Daniela Kamiliotis

Scott Campbell

Aaron Rose

Matthew Eikelberger

My own desk suddenly look rather dull (the bad quality pic doesn’t help) :

However I’ve started a vintage photograph collection which begins to look quite nice actually :

Still, a lot of work and research to do until I can have this kind of place – even before that, I’ll have to rent a much wider place than my current studio before I can really stick to this delirium ;-)

Hi Marie, it’s been so many years and I recall those times you sent me those fabulous pictures of dress designs and beautiful drawings from your inspired creativity when we were pen pals back in the days when I lived in Mauritius. I am delighted to note that you have progressed so much and that you have pursued this passion of yours which gives you purpose and defines you. Your blog is very well done and I like your decor ideas. Well done and keep it up gal.
