Self-taught from scratch, my main focuses are to put art and design together into radiant illustration, and to design beautiful CSS websites in order to make the Internet a more beautiful place.

Background

Born 27 years ago in France, I grew up in a creative family : my grandfather was a typographer, my mother is an art teacher and a painter, my sister is a photographer and a soon-to-be tattoo artist. Logically, the necessity to express myself has always been visceral.

Self-taught from scratch, I try to combine elegant and vibrant visuals with strong messages. I’ve been mixing photography, digital painting and mixed media for over 6 years, interested in both the beauty of a picture and its impact and significance. Self-proclaimed modern alchemist, I try to embody my feelings into highly conceptual visuals. My inspiration comes from dark and ethereal music, romantic and contemporary art, art books, nature and contemplation.

My first foray into web design started in 2000 with the launch of La Lune Mauve, a personal website which has since evolved into a large French community dedicated to the alternative culture, of which I am the art director and editor. Since then I have designed many websites, either commissioned or for personal purposes. Focusing on W3-compliant web design, my work has been featured in many CSS directories ; my blog’s design has even been featured in the Japanese magazine Web Designing in December 2008.

I have collaborated with artists and bands from France as well as places as distant as Australia and Singapore. I have also regularly created album covers for alternative rock bands, one-of-a-kind CSS-based websites, and acclaimed science fiction and sensual, glamourous artwork.

In 2006 I joined SWARM Records, a French pan-artistic association which led me to take part in two grand collective exhibitions.

In December 2008 I graduated from marketing and online communication studies which have been keeping me busy for seven years. I am now starting my first job as XHTML/CSS developper in Paris.
